What we do

  • Estate-planning coordination
  • Trust advisory
  • Infinite Banking education
  • Annuity strategies
  • Private-ordering principles

The gap

Most financial plans answer one question and skip four.

Conventional planning is good at growth. It tends to be quieter about the parts that decide what actually happens to your money: who controls it, how quickly you can reach it, what stays private, and how it transfers when you are no longer the one managing it.

Control
Who decides what happens to an asset, and under what conditions. Left to default rules, that decision often belongs to someone else.
Liquidity
Capital you can reach without selling something, interrupting compounding, or applying to a lender at the moment you least want to.
Privacy
What becomes public record and what does not. Probate is a public process; a great deal of planning is about staying out of it.
Transfer
Whether wealth reaches the next generation on purpose, in a usable form, or by default, after cost and delay.

How we help

Five ways to take control of your financial life.

Each of these answers a question clients actually ask. The products sit underneath: they are the means, not the point.

Why clients choose us

A practice built around the questions other plans skip.

We are an independent, founder-led firm. That shapes what we can say to you and how we say it.

  • 01

    We name the trade-offs

Every strategy on this site is published with its drawbacks alongside its benefits: surrender charges, funding commitments, what happens if you stop, where a product is the wrong answer. A recommendation you cannot argue with is not a recommendation; it is a sales pitch.

  • 02

    We coordinate rather than compete

If you already have an attorney, a CPA or an investment adviser you trust, keep them. Plans usually fail in the gaps between professionals, not inside any one of them. That gap is where we work.

  • 03

    Education before product

You should be able to explain your own strategy to someone else before you commit to it. If a concept cannot be explained in ordinary language, that is a problem with the concept, or with how it is being sold.

  • 04

    Founder-led since 2015

Hidden Gems Financial has been advising families and business owners since 2015 under the same leadership. You work with a practice, not a call queue.

What happens next

A clear process, with no obligation at any step.

You should know exactly what you are agreeing to before you agree to it. Here is how an engagement begins.

  1. 01

    A conversation

We start by understanding your situation: what you own, what you are responsible for, what you are worried about, and what you want to be true in ten and thirty years. No documents required, and nothing is recommended in this conversation.

  2. 02

    A review of what exists

We look at what you already have in place: coverage, retirement accounts, how assets are titled, beneficiary designations, and any estate documents. This step regularly finds gaps and contradictions that have gone unnoticed for years.

  3. 03

    A strategy, explained

We present what we would do and why, including what each option costs, what it commits you to, and where it is the wrong fit. Where the work belongs with an attorney or CPA, we say so and coordinate with them.

  4. 04

    Implementation and review

If you decide to proceed, we handle applications, underwriting and paperwork, and confirm everything is in force and correctly designated. From there the plan is reviewed on a schedule, and whenever your life changes materially.

Wayne M. Carr, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Hidden Gems Financial

The practice

Wayne M. Carr

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Wayne M. Carr founded Hidden Gems Financial in 2015 to bring private-wealth thinking to people who are rarely offered it: families building their first real balance sheet, business owners with capital tied up in an operating company, and professionals who have accumulated assets without ever being shown how the pieces fit together.

His work centres on the strategies conventional planning tends to skip: how wealth is held, not just how it is invested; how liquidity is created without dismantling what you have built; and how assets pass to the next generation on purpose rather than by default.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

If your question is not here, ask it directly. We would rather have the conversation than have you guess.

  • What does Hidden Gems Financial actually do?

We are a private wealth and legacy-planning firm. We help individuals, families and business owners protect assets, build tax-aware strategies, create reliable lifetime income, and transfer wealth intentionally. In practice that means estate-planning coordination, trust advisory, Infinite Banking education, annuity strategies and private-ordering principles, brought together into one plan rather than sold as separate products.

  • Do you provide legal or tax advice?

No. We are not a law firm or a tax advisory firm. Trusts and estate plans are legal arrangements with legal and tax consequences, and they must be drafted by a licensed attorney. Our role is to coordinate with your attorney and tax professional so that the financial pieces support what they design, and to make sure the plan is actually funded, which is where plans most often fail.

  • What is Infinite Banking, in plain terms?

It is a way of using a participating whole life policy that has been structured for cash value rather than maximum death benefit. You fund it over several years; once cash value has accumulated you can borrow against the policy from the insurer, using it as collateral, while the policy generally continues to be credited. It requires sustained funding and a long horizon, early-year cash value is well below premiums paid, and outstanding loans reduce the death benefit. It suits some situations well and many others poorly. We will tell you which yours is.

  • Are annuity guarantees actually guaranteed?

Annuity guarantees are contractual obligations of the issuing insurance company and are backed by that insurer's financial strength and claims-paying ability. They are not guaranteed by any government agency. Most contracts also carry a surrender schedule limiting access to funds for a number of years, and optional income riders carry ongoing fees. We walk through the guaranteed columns of any illustration, not just the projected ones, before anything is signed.

  • Do you work with clients outside Florida?

We are based in Orlando, Florida, and work with clients in person locally and remotely elsewhere. Insurance and annuity products are state-regulated, so the products available to you depend on the state you live in. Tell us where you are based and we will confirm what we can do before we discuss anything specific.

  • What happens in the first conversation?

We ask about your situation: what you own, who depends on you, what you are responsible for, and what you want to be true in ten and thirty years. We do not recommend anything in that first conversation, because we do not yet know enough to. If it turns out we are not the right fit, we will say so and, where we can, point you toward who is.
